Dear Scared You; Do It Anyway
Dear Scared You; Do It Anyway,
I know you’re scared. I know that the pain of the past has a way of creeping in and making you second guess yourself. It leads your mind to believe that you’re not worthy and deserving of what you want now. But you are. You always have been. The past doesn’t change what you deserve in your future. Your worth was never the question; it was whether or not you believed it.
I know you’re scared. The mistakes of the past find a way to remind you of all the ways you have failed. Of everything you have done wrong and why it won’t be any different this time. But what if it is? What if this time you took a chance on yourself and succeeded. What if this time you found the courage to ignore the fear and instead, trusted yourself? What if this time was the time, you truly started living?
I know you’re scared. The aching in your heart still feels all too real. Too raw. Too new. It sits there like an opened wound feeling freshly salted. The pain still too much bear. But my darling, opening your heart again is the only way to find love. To heal. To come back home to yourself. Sometimes we need to take a leap and trust that we will be caught, or if were one of the lucky ones, we will fly.
I know you’re scared. The voices of those around you continue to remind you why this is impossible. Why it’ll never work. Why you simply can’t. But what does the voice inside of you say? For it is the only one that matters. Pay attention to it. Empower it. Remember that your inner voice holds the power to create your reality. What does yours currently say about your thoughts?
I know you’re scared. The end goal feels a million miles away and the tiny steps to get you there feel like a marathon you’re not quite ready to run. But I can promise you, walking slowly in the right direction will still get you there faster than standing still. So, take a small step. Just one. Do something today that future you will thank you for. Move your body. Drink your water. Get more sleep. Send that email. Have that hard conversation. Set that boundary. Say yes to that opportunity. Whatever it is. Because the decisions you make today will create your life tomorrow. And don’t you want an amazing one?
I know you’re scared. The fear of change has you standing frozen in time. The unknown. The “what will it look like”. The “what if’s”. The only way to find those answers is to go through. Through the dark. Through the fear. Through the questioning of “am I making the right decision”. Through every single moment of self-doubt. Through. And you have to have faith. Faith that you will always end up on the right side. Faith that trusting your heart will never lead you in the wrong direction. Faith that something so much bigger is always working in your favor. Faith that no matter what happens you will be ok. Because you will. I promise.
I know you’re scared, but what lives on the other side of your fear, is life you were made for. So, find courage. Be brave. Take a chance. Trust that it will all work out. And know that no matter what happens, you are so deeply love. Because you are.
I love you.
